We are excited to announce Camunda BPM 7.14, the latest release of Camunda’s process automation stack, including the core BPMN workflow and DMN decision engines as well as modelling, operations and analytics applications. Here is an overview of the highlights from this release.

RPA Orchestration: RPA Bridge, Cawemo Catalog

Camunda BPM 7.14 enhances how organizations can design, orchestrate, monitor and analyze multiple RPA bots, enabling them to be part of a fully managed, end-to-end business process.

The new release introduces an RPA Bridge that, as an external service task client, enables communication between the Camunda BPM Runtime process engine and RPA vendors, allowing the fetching and locking of tasks between Camunda and RPA services.

In addition, a new Catalog in Cawemo simplifies and reduces the time required to connect process tasks to RPA services with task templates. These task templates are pre-configured process input/output parameters that implement a given task and can be created and published for reuse.

In 7.14, Camunda offers this RPA orchestration with UiPath. Additional RPA vendors will be added in the future.

Assisted Variable Editing

When implementing a process diagram, it can be challenging to recall and enter the correct process input and output parameters. The latest version of Camunda Modeler allows users to declare and list process variables that are used throughout a BPMN diagram. And now process inputs/outputs will be suggested when typing an expression.

New Frontend Cockpit Plugin System

The 7.14 release also introduces a new frontend plugin system for Cockpit – making it easier to embed domain-specific information into Camunda without switching applications.

The new plugin system replaces the AngularJS 1.8 based plugin system and enables Cockpit users to use the web technology of their choice – whether it be React, Angular, or just plain Javascript.

Dashboard Filters

And 7.14 offers continued investment in Camunda’s monitoring and analytics capabilities as well.  One notable enhancement is dashboard filters Camunda Optimize. Dashboards in Optimize are derived from reports in order to get an up-to-date view of process performance at a glance.

Optimize now enables dashboard viewers to apply relevant filters across all reports that have been added to a particular dashboard. Filters can now be applied to process instance state, start/end date and variables.
