It’s that magical time of year again, folks. The one that fills our hearts with a great sense of community and a shared love of swag. That’s right, it’s Hacktoberfest time! Hacktoberfest is the month-long celebration of all things open source that takes place every year between Oct. 1 – 31. Created by DigitalOcean, 2021 will be the eighth year of this amazing event. Last year saw more than 66,000 challenge completions with a total of 387,052 pull requests opened across 116,361 repositories, and this year should prove to be even larger.
This is Camunda’s second year participating in Hacktoberfest, and we are so excited to showcase bpmn.io and the Camunda Community Hub. Head over to our landing page to learn more about how to participate in Hacktoberfest with Camunda this year. There you’ll find all the information you could ever need.
At Camunda, we believe that open source can help unlock the full potential of process automation. We want everyone to be able to create and share BPMN processes with others on the web and without restrictions.
The bpmn.io project provides tools to view and edit BPMN, DMN and CMMN diagrams, as well as Forms in your browser. We’ve initiated bpmn.io as an effort to provide the best BPMN tools possible; open source and free to use for everyone who changes people and organizations through BPMN.
The Camunda Community Hub is the result of a lot of hard work from our very own Rin Oliver. The Hub is a community of maintainers and Camunda employees that provides peer support, automation and discoverability. This GitHub organization serves as a single place to find Camunda open source community-contributed extensions.
From working in Developer Relations, I know firsthand how amazing our community is. You all are a source of inspiration for not only me but everyone here at Camunda. Last year, we saw incredible projects such as translating Tasklist into Hindi and Nepali, documentation creation and more. I can’t wait to see what kinds of cool contributions you all have in store for us this year.
