2023 Community Impact Report
Introduction
Community has always been an important part of what makes Camunda special. From the beginning, we’ve been lucky to have an encouraging and engaged group of people helping Camunda be the best it can be and giving back to others in the community.
This year, we wanted to share the impact that our community has had in various ways and celebrate all the work you put into making our community wonderful!
Thank you to every member of our community, and we can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!
— Mary Thengvall, Director of Developer Relations at Camunda
Who is our community?
We’re global! Camunda itself started in Berlin, Germany, but we are now a global, remote-first company with employees all over the world. This is similarly reflected in our community!
Our biggest region is EMEA, and our biggest countries are:
- 1. China
- 2. United States
- 3. Germany
- 4. India
- 5. Brazil
Code
One place where our community really shines is in their technical contributions!
Whether contributing to the core product, developing connectors, or writing plugins that extend the functionality of Camunda, we have an awesome group of folks from all over the world writing and sharing code.

[Signal Throw and Signal Catch]
There’s no better example of how our community works together than signal events, added earlier this year – @skayliu worked on the signal throw events while @lzgabel worked on signal catch events. A true team effort!
Meet-ups
Our thriving meet-up program is only made possible by our excellent volunteer chapter leaders, who plan and execute all Camunda meet-ups.

Forum
The forum is core to the community. While it’s used for announcements and event information, its main purpose is answering questions from Camunda users. Our forum superstars are community users who help solve questions and troubleshoot problems.
The forum gets far more traffic than posts, meaning that when you answer questions for another member of the community, there are likely many, many more people who are helped by this answer!
