After obtaining SOC 2 Type 1 certification last year, we’ve been working hard to meet the requirements for the rigorous SOC 2 Type 2 certification. This achievement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance for our customers.
What is SOC 2 Type 2 Certification?
SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls) is an extensive set of standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that measures how well a company safeguards customer data and protects their privacy. SOC 2 Type 1 certification verifies that a company’s systems and processes are designed to meet these standards, while SOC 2 Type 2 certification goes one step further by evaluating how well those systems and processes are actually operating over time.
To achieve SOC 2 Type 2 certification, we underwent a rigorous audit process that included an assessment of our controls over a period of months. This involved testing our systems and processes to ensure they were operating effectively and in accordance with the AICPA’s Trust Services Criteria. Our Trust Services Criteria focus on two key areas: security and availability. This means that we have implemented controls to protect against unauthorized access and ensure system availability in the event of a disruption or outage.
We’re proud to say that we passed this audit with flying colors, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance for our customers. Our SOC 2 audit was conducted by Tevora, a leading provider of cybersecurity consulting services. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable in helping us achieve this important milestone.
