AWS vetted Camunda so you don't have to

Camunda has earned the AWS Financial Services Competency, independently validating Camunda's ability to orchestrate critical processes on AWS.

Every financial services firm is being pushed to reimagine how they operate. AI has made one thing clear: bolting AI onto a legacy process does not produce a transformative result. The process itself has to be rebuilt for a world where AI agents, people, and existing technologies work together to achieve the same goal. We call it the great process re-engineering, the shift from automating steps to redesigning how the work runs end to end.

In financial services, that re-engineering carries a constraint most industries do not face. An automated process is only as valuable as your ability to prove it ran correctly. Every payment, every sanctions check, every trade has to be auditable, recoverable, and explainable to a regulator who was not in the room.

Moving the work to the cloud raises the bar even further. And all of it has to hold up against the toughest scrutiny.

The hard part is making AI handle high-stakes work

Cloud capacity is a commodity. So are models. Many institutions can stand up an AI agent this quarter and point it at a siloed problem. Few can run that agent across a regulated process at scale and prove — step by step — that it acted as designed and according to policy.

That gap is closed by an open orchestration layer. It coordinates the AI agents, core systems, compliance checks, and the human decisions into a unified process that executes the same way every time and leaves a record when it does not.

What the AWS FSI Competency means for you

Camunda earned the AWS Financial Services Competency after rigorous evaluation. Partners pass a third-party technical audit, submit real financial services customer references, and demonstrate that their solution meets the industry bar for security, compliance, and operational resilience.

AWS has independently verified that Camunda orchestrates regulated workloads on AWS to the standard financial institutions are held to. AWS has already done much of the heavy lifting vetting Camunda your architecture and risk teams would otherwise run themselves.

That verification sits on top of an existing track record in financial services. Camunda orchestrates critical processes for 700+ organizations, including 12 of the top 15 leading global banks. Institutions such as HSBC, Goldman Sachs, BNY, and Capital One already run some of their most important work on it.

Plus, Camunda was recently awarded Partner of the Year for delivering transformative cloud solutions and measurable business value and running on AWS.

Where agentic orchestration earns its keep

Financial crime compliance

KYC, AML, and transaction monitoring span a dozen systems and throw off more alerts than any team can clear by hand. Orchestration runs the screening, the risk scoring, and the case handling as one process, and puts enforceable checks between an AI agent's reasoning and any action it takes. Analysts stop chasing false positives or handling busy work. Compliance sees the whole chain of decisions instead of an opaque box.

Claims processing

A single storm can turn a quiet week into fifty thousand claims overnight. Each one still has to be triaged, checked for fraud, and paid correctly. Stressed policyholders expect a prompt payout. You need to mitigate losses. Camunda orchestrates everything from FNOL to settlement across all the systems involved. Low-risk and predictable cases process automatically. AI agents come in to triage missing information or assist adjusters, escalating only when necessary with a complete trace of every action and decision.

Real-time payments

Settlement now happens in seconds, but fraud screening, sanctions checks, and exception handling still have to fit inside that window. Camunda coordinates the rails, the checks, and the fallback paths into one governed flow. The majority clears straight through. Any edge cases or breaks first get handled by agentic AI unless thresholds or policy require routing to a person — with the full decision trail intact.

Trade lifecycle

Settlement and reconciliation break where systems hand off to each other, and every break is manual work against a shrinking clock. Camunda orchestrates the lifecycle across those systems, routes the exceptions, and shows operations where every trade sits in real time. Fewer breaks. Faster reconciliation. A defensible record behind each one.

The AI is the straightforward part in all four examples. The value comes from making agentic AI work in your core processes while staying compliant.

The trust chain

Trust is the entire business of a financial institution. Your customers trust you with their money. You trust AWS with your infrastructure. The AWS Financial Services Competency extends that same chain to the layer that runs the work: the orchestration that turns models and APIs into processes a regulator will accept.

The institutions that win the next decade will not add AI to old processes. They will re-engineer the process itself for an AI-native world. But re-engineering a regulated process is where the real risk lives. You are changing how money moves, how crime gets caught, how customers get approved, in full view of a regulator. Do it without control and you have swapped slow for unsafe.

That is exactly why independent validation of the agentic orchestration layer that runs the work matters more than anywhere else.
