Is the Future of RPA Promising or Perilous?

I recently participated in a CamundaCon Live panel, led and moderated by Jason Bloomberg at Intellyx, about how enterprises are currently using RPA. My fellow panelists (Vittorio Dal Bianco at Nokia, Marco Einacker at Deutsche Telekom and Paul Jones at NatWest) provided a fascinating look on the benefits and limitations of this much-discussed technology. During the panel, I gave an analogy to illustrate the issues I’ve seen with RPA implementations:. I have suffered from back problems in the past. When I experienced back pain, that pain then caused my muscles to stiffen, which caused more pain. To help with this, I could take pain medicine, like ibuprofen. However, in order to really get rid of the back pain, I also…

How Camunda is Reinventing Process Automation for the Digital Enterprise

I opened CamundaCon Live by providing a company update and an overview of our mission for the future. First of all, I acknowledged the “elephant in the room.” COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it. This conference was scheduled to take place in New York City, and ended up being a virtual event instead. The incredible worldwide response to this challenge has been truly inspiring and we want to help any way we can. That’s why Camunda created our COVID-19 response project to help the nonprofits and NGOs tackling this global issue. Organizations like Remedy Match are now using Camunda as the backend of their logistics solution. Remedy Match uses our automation solutions to make sure they can…

Camunda Optimize-specific Questions: Monitoring & Orchestrating Your Microservices Landscape using Workflow Automation

Back in March, I conducted the webinar: “Monitoring & Orchestrating Your Microservices Landscape using Workflow Automation”. Not only was I overwhelmed by the number of attendees, but we also got a huge list of interesting questions before and, especially, during the webinar. So I want to answer all open questions in this series of seven blog posts – you can click on the hyperlinks below to navigate to the other entries. In this blog, we’ll be exploring Camunda Optimize-specific questions BPMN & modeling-related questions (6 answers) Architecture related questions (12) Stack & technology questions (6) Camunda product-related questions (5) Camunda Optimize-specific questions (3)…

Getting Started with Knative

When building applications for Kubernetes, Zeebe can help you orchestrate several microservices. But how do you build those microservices in the first place? How do you connect them in a resilient way? Do you want to leverage the power of Functions as a Service in Kubernetes? The Knative Project was created to provide answers to these exact questions. While I was looking into how Knative will work with Zeebe, I realized it would be really helpful if I created some simple examples to demonstrate how Knative can help you in your projects. It will also help me explain how Zeebe and Knative will integrate and how they can be an amazing combination to build distributed systems. For these reasons, I…
