We’re excited to announce the release of Camunda Optimize 3.8.0-alpha1.
Camunda Optimize provides business activity monitoring for workflows, supporting continuous process improvement by providing transparency into your automated workflows and decisions. Business-friendly reports, dashboards, and alerts make it possible to identify process bottlenecks, improve end-to-end processes, and evaluate the success of your process automation initiative.
If you’d like to get started with Optimize 3.8.0-alpha1 right away, you can download the release with your Camunda Enterprise Platform customer credentials.
And, if you’re not yet a Camunda customer, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of the Camunda Enterprise Platform, which includes Camunda Optimize, or sign up for a 30-day Camunda Cloud trial.
What’s New?
We have a few features to introduce that expand on our existing functionality and make the interface more usable.
Legible variable names
You don’t have to settle for the illegible variable names set by other teams in Modeler. Instead, you can use the Optimize UI to use your preferred variable names. This is especially useful for system-generated variable names like customer.order.1.amount, derived from object variables (or native JSON variables, as you’ll see below).
Cleaner Outlier Analysis
While using the Outlier Analysis feature, you might notice some meaningless outliers in the outlier heatmap. This distracts you from the real outliers that are impacting your business process. We’ve excluded data from several flow nodes that should take a few milliseconds to process and ignored instances with less than a 50-millisecond variation from the mean. Here’s an example of the cleaned-up graph below.
Dashboard and report type on imports
While using our public API to import dashboards or reports, you’ll see the entityType of each ID is now included in the response. If there are any issues while importing, you’ll better understand what happened and how to fix it.
Native JSON variable support
If you use native JSON variables, you might be delighted to know that we process them similarly to object variables. Check out the 3.7.0 release blog post to learn more about what we can do with them.
What’s Next?
We’ll release the next alpha of Camunda Optimize 3.8.0 in March 2022. Stay tuned!
Camunda Optimize 3.7.0 should update to Optimize 3.8.0 smoothly. Along with the minor release, we’ll publish a dedicated update guide.
