In the Automation Platform team...

  • We develop a BPMN process engine that executes critical business processes at our customers and community users.
  • We develop powerful web applications that provide process operators with real-time insights into the running system.
  • We build libraries that make our product enjoyable for our core users: software developers. Most of the code we write is open source!

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and build Java and REST APIs in a framework: Driven by individual user requests to the benefit of a broad user base.
  • Ensure that our product remains up to date with the latest environments of our users.
  • Help our customers resolve problems operating our software as part of 3rd-level support.
  • Perform spikes to discover technical requirements and solutions to problems with high technical uncertainty.
  • Qualify tickets, review and merge pull requests submitted by our open-source community.
  • Have the possibility to engage with our community by helping in our user forum, publishing blog posts, or speaking at community meet-ups.

What you'll bring along:

  • 4 - 5 years of experience as a Java Backend Engineer
  • Good knowledge of Java and relational databases.

What You’ll Be Doing:

We are looking for a hands-on Backend Engineer (m/f/d), keen to join us to build the distributed system that powers our next generation BPMN Process Engine! You will be part of a talented, passionate and supporting group of Backend Software Engineers that complement each other to succeed!

  • You will contribute to the distributed system components of our open-sourced distributed process engine Zeebe (source-available License) which powers process automation in Camunda 8
  • You will design and implement new features and improvements for our distributed system based on our vision as well as customer and community feedback
  • You will help us to continuously improve the reliability, stability, performance and security of our system, e.g. by pushing the performance boundaries of the platform for higher throughput and lower latency
  • You will use cloud native technologies to build, run, test and benchmark our system in modern cloud environments from a product engineers perspective - for our SaaS platform we have a dedicated Site Reliability Engineering team that handles operations
  • You will closely collaborate and exchange knowledge with your teammates and other engineers in the organization 
  • You will support other Camundi, customers, external contributors and the community to use and operate our system

What You Bring:

  • You are heavily interested in distributed systems, it’s a bonus if you have hands-on experience using such systems or even contributed yourself
  • You have 1-3 years of experience working with JVM programming languages, it’s a bonus if you have experience with concurrent programming models such as the actor model

About the role

About the team:

Camunda's CSMs are trusted advisors to the customer, fostering successful adoption which will naturally lead to retention. Responsible for renewals, they spot opportunities for expansion and team up with sales when it comes to commercial negotiations.

  • Become the trusted advisor to a pool of customers and key stakeholders in Benelux region by aligning Camunda technology to their business strategy and goals

  • 2+ years of Customer Success, Consulting or Account Management experience, preferably within the enterprise software industry
  • Ability to foster and cultivate relationships with Enterprise Customers and become their trusted advisor
  • Experience dealing with customers of different sizes with complex technical environments and requests
  • Ability to win subscription renewals, including pricing discussions and identify expansion opportunities
  • Understanding of open source model, cloud computing and DevOps highly preferred

About the role

We are looking for a Director, Engineering to lead a division within Engineering that includes 6 Engineering teams. You'll be part of a globally distributed Products Department, reporting directly to VP, Engineering.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • As a Director of Engineering you will be responsible for 6 Engineering teams consisting of ~25 individuals (including Engineering Managers and Engineers). With these teams you own the core workflow engine of the Camunda 8 Process Orchestration platform and accompanying web applications.
  • Being part of the Engineering Leadership Team you will work alongside the VP of Engineering and Engineering Managers to continuously improve Camundas overall Engineering practice.
  • You will partner up closely with Product Management, align with them, and contribute to the overall Product strategy and roadmaps. Utilizing your partnership, you will ensure that your part of the organization scales in accordance with the Product roadmap.

What You Bring

  • Previous experience as Manager, Senior Manager, or Director responsible for multiple Product Development teams.
    • At least 7 years of experience building software products
    • At least 3 years of experience managing organizations (multiple teams) larger than 20 people building software products
  • You can quickly build up expertise with a complex, significant part of our product: the cloud automation platform. Can quickly understand this system on architecture and individual component level.
  • You have a proven record managing a complex product which includes a distributed architecture keeping in mind scalability, high performance, high availability, resilience, and security. 
  • You can develop your part of the organization (multiple teams) by: being a leader of leaders, initiating and taking strategic and organizational action (e.g., setting up the right governance), conveying mission and purpose from a business and a technical perspective, guiding their organization through change and improving overall processes
  • You can build a strong engineering culture with a focus on speed and business impact by selecting, and developing talent, managing performance, conveying purpose, and ensuring engineering “flow”.

About the team:

The key goals of our Consulting team is to guide our customers successfully through the technical aspects of their Camunda projects and to finally assure the technical success of our customers. As a Manager Consulting DACH it’s your mission to lead and expand a team of highly experienced Trainers, Consultants and Technical Account Managers.   • Practical experience in managing and growing high-performance technical teams, ideally in Technical Training, Consulting or Professional Services 
  • Strong customer-facing attitude
  • Practical knowledge in software development (hands-on Java skills), corresponding tools / frameworks and in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Hands-on attitude – whenever necessary, you won't hesitate to roll up your sleeves and make progress yourself
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in German and English
  • Experience with BPM/BPMN/orchestration/process automation is a strong plus.

  • Own, develop, and maintain  three Camunda Platform 8 clients (mostly existing code-bases).
  • Advocate for Camunda 8 API usage by ensuring Camunda 8 clients are easily discovered, understood, and used.
  • Stay on top of the best developer environment tooling like IDEs, API tools, and more, keeping the community aware of how to use them efficiently with Camunda.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Director Accounting & Corporate Controlling to lead the further professionalization of Camunda’s accounting & reporting, payroll & expense, tax and sales order functions. In this role, you will build and manage high performing remote-first teams who are covering Camunda’s 4 legal entities in Germany, US, UK and Singapore. Responsibilities: 

  • You lead, develop and build out the accounting (GL, AR, AP), payroll and sales order management teams
  • You own audit, tax, corporate controls, expense policies and treasury 
  • You build scalable, reliable accounting and reporting process and know-how to optimize Camunda’s recent full IFRS reporting transition 
  • You lead all aspects of accounting operations including month-end close and annual audit and oversee the development, implementation and ongoing management of technical accounting policies, procedures and controls in the core accounting, external reporting and accounting operation area
  • You collaborate with the teams on optimizing system setups (Netsuite etc.), workflows and integrations  
  • You manage and collaborate with external auditors an deliver a clean audit in a timely manner 
  • You manage external advisors, banks and service providers
  • You are responsible for establishing compliant yet user-friendly accounting & spend controls, workflows and policies to ensure appropriate governance for all Camunda entities and global staff
  • You manage treasury and bank relationships, implementing strategies to reduce cash flow risk while improving working capital management and global cash management (cashpool etc.)
  • You oversee payroll and provide recommendations to streamline and optimize it, including the selection of payroll systems
  • You serve as the point of contact for internal inquiries and approval requests (e.g. payment terms, credit risk etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent experience
  • CPA and Big 4 Accounting experience highly preferred
  • 10+ years in management and leadership roles with proven experience leading or being a key contributor to impactful organizational changes
  • Experience in leading a team of managers and contributors in a remote, international setting in a high-growth software company (enterprise software / SaaS a plus)
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and IFRS knowledge
  • Experience working across international entities (incl. global tax structures); experience with a US Inc and a German GmbH (statutory German GAAP) a plus.
  • Ability to work with accounting software tools - experience with NetSuite and G Suite applications preferred; experience utilizing accounting tools such as FloQast, Avalara, Chargebee, Stripe etc. a plus
  • Proven experience with establishing risks and controls standards, business process and system best practises
  • Experience with public company preparation and/or leading a publicly traded company's accounting function a plus

About the role

As a Technical Product Marketing Manager at Camunda, you will support our marketing team by producing technical “builder” content to evangelize the Camunda Platform as well as support our PLG motion.

  • Create product focused, technical, short & long form content including (but not limited to) blog posts, videos, and webinars.

What you'll bring along:

  • 3+ years in a technical marketing or developer advocacy role

What you will be doing:
