We are shocked and saddened by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and how it affects the people that live there. We join the many individuals and companies supporting them, with our own contributions:

  • Camunda commits €87,500 to charities working to help the Ukrainian people. These charities will be selected by Camunda employees and donations completed during the first week of March.
  • We support our employees who are volunteering to help Ukrainian refugees, allowing them to take paid time off as possible or organizing clothing and donation drives.
  • For the foreseeable future, we won’t force outstanding payments from our customers in Ukraine.
  • NGOs and non-profit organizations that may benefit from our technology and expertise to provide faster aid and support to the people of Ukraine are being prioritized in our Camunda for Common Good. Please reach out to us if we can help in any way.

One of our values is that we do not impose our world view on others, and therefore don’t discuss politics at work, however, we do stand firm by the liberal-democratic basic order (you can find our values here). Putin’s war on Ukraine is a direct attack on that order, to a degree that is unprecedented in Camunda’s history.

Because of that, we intend to take a stance and refrain from doing further business with customers, prospective customers, and partners in Russia or closely related to Russia.

At the same time, we are aware that many people in Russia are not at all in agreement with the actions of their government, and we deeply admire them for their courage to protest. We do hope that we can change our stance in the future, depending on how the overall situation in Russia develops.

In such difficult times, I am moved by the people working at Camunda. They come from countries all over the world, including both Ukraine and Russia. They have worked together for years, overcome tremendous challenges, and cheerfully celebrated their wins, together. Now more than ever, they are standing united in their shock and sadness, but they are not paralyzed. They have organized themselves to help however they may, for example, by collecting clothes and other donations at our Berlin office and bringing them to the Ukrainian border. I am proud of our team, and I know that we will get through these troubled times, as always, together.
